July 2nd, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedThere is a little known problem called severe mold allergy or mold poisoning. When you live in certain parts of the United States that are known to be very wet, you can have problems with mold allergies and not even know it. Mold allergies can make you violently ill, so be on the look out. If you are sick and the Dr. Cannot put his finger on the cause, ask about a mold allergy and mold allergy treatment
Those who live in warm and tropical climates are the first to see issues with black mold. When the air is always full of wetness, it’s hard to realize that your home and your body may be suffering from it. Sure our bodies become used to the heat and heavy air, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have a mold allergy. You could have black mold in your home and not even know it. Not everyone Is severely allergic to black mold.
You can breathe in these toxic mold spores and begin to get very ill, over time. Many people experience symptoms that begin like any other cold or flu. You may have itchy, watery eyes, congestion and a cough. You may also develop issues with your ears and throat that appear normal at first. You must be careful because you could be getting very gravely ill.
Nobody expects that their own home or town can kill them. It’s a sad truth about those who are inflicted by severe black mold allergy and poisoning. The places you most love to be can turn out to be the most harmful to your health. Your belongings may be poisoned and if you cannot pick something up and throw it into the washing machine, it’s not going to be clean and free of the toxic black mold.
If you’ve suffered through ages of hair loss, anxiety, mood changes and other unexplained symptoms, have your Dr. Run a mold allergy test on you. Chances are you are severely allergic to the often unnoticeable substance. Many are not diagnosed before they become so ill that they simply cannot function. Get help before it’s too late. If you suspect black mold poisoning or that you have a mold allergy, get help immediately.
Depending on how deep your contamination is, there are a variety of mold allergy treatment plans that can be followed. The first is to put you on an anti fungal medication. This will begin to break up the mold in your blood and in any organs that it may have affected. If you don’t have an extreme case of mold allergy poisoning, you should not have to get a blood transfusion.
If you have allergies to mold that are on the same level as people who have hay fever or other seasonal allergies, you may be able to combat it with a cromolyn spray. Cromolyn is the only allergy medication targeted specifically at mold allergies. Cromolyn is available over the counter in a nasal mist but must be prescribed by a doctor for oral form.
When you use Cromolyn as a mold allergy treatment, you may be able to keep the mold allergy symptoms at bay. Taking Cromolyn products 7-10 days before you enter an area or situation where you know there will be mold will help in reducing your symptoms.

Asthma Inhaler
July 2nd, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedKeyword: asthma inhaler
Word Count: 429
Keyword Density: 6/1.4%
If you have asthma, nearly anything can trigger it. For example, some people’s asthma is brought on simply by smells or shifts in altitude or temperature. Thus, if you want to stay in control of your health, it is important to invest and use an asthma inhaler. The following are just some accessories you can invest in to make sure that your inhaler is always around you.
The Asthma Inhaler Holder
If you are looking for a fun way to keep your inhaler on you at all times, then consider investing in an asthma inhaler holder. These models come in all shapes in sizes. This accessory helps you remember to have your inhaler with you at all times but is not intrusive or overly obvious. Thus, it makes an asthma inhaler look as natural to carry as lip balm.
One can see an asthma inhaler holder in various designs and colors. For example, you can find these holders in everything from basic black to camouflage to rainbow and other kinds of fun prints. Thus, the fun part about finding a holder for your asthma inhaler is choosing which holder best suits the person. There is bound to be a design out there that suits each and every person’s needs.
The asthma inhaler can be attached to a key chain in a few ways. The attachment is either of metal or plastic. Often, the kind of attachment depends on the look the person wants or the holder itself. One could have a traditional key ring or could opt for a larger attachment with a claw-like opening.
The Carrier
If you want to be prepared for everything that comes with asthma, consider investing in a tote that holds not only your asthma inhaler but any materials that might make an attack easier to cope with. Totes are generally water-resistant and are particularly great for long trips.
Sports Cases
Having asthma does not mean that leading an active life is over. On the contrary, many folks with this medical condition continue to play sports and go on adventures. However, the key for active folks with asthma is to have their asthma inhaler on them at all times. A hard sports case or cover ensures that the inhaler is not only on a person at all times but will not break in the middle of all the action. When playing a sport, it’s common for people to run into one another or for things to get jostled. A sports case or over protects the asthma inhaler, and thus, protects the individual.

TRADITIONAL HERBS

Definition: Traditional Herbs
A traditional herb is defined as a botanic material known before history used by native people for their food and/or medicine. In all regions of the world, we owe native people our gratitude for the knowledge handed down to the people of recorded history. For example, where would the British be without the herbal herbs medicine and food plants of their Native Indians – The Scots, Irish, Celts, Picts, Faerie folk. FYI, The natives wore leathers, painted their bodies like Native Americans. They gave the world a grand resource of herbs used in natural medicine today. To mention a few- angelica, garlic, chrysanthemum, hawthorn, digitalis, licorice root, holly, seaweed, many varieties of mushrooms, etc. The past shamans or medicine men and women of all cultures have preserved a rich plant knowledge which many patients are the beneficiary in natural medicine clinics, daily.
Where do traditional herbs come from?
Common sense would tell you that they come from all over the world. Any master herbalist appreciates this fact, but in reality, this fact is quickly disappearing. With civilization growing and not reversing, many species are becoming extinct. Many undiscovered flora are being lost and who knows what benefit has been lost due to greed and failure to be cognizant of how, short term interests, are destroying our current and future quality of life. Around the world, major contributions have been added to the herbal medicine arsenal:
- Asia: Ginsengs, Astragalus, Chinese mushrooms (Yunzhi, Reishi), etc.
- North America: Aloe Vera, American ginseng, Alfalfa, Goldenseal, Milk Thistle
- Central America: peppers, Cumin, Paprika, Oregano, Hibiscus, Coriander, avocado
- South America: Maca, Guarana, Yerba Maté, Pau d’ Arco, Muira Puama, Jatoba, Catuaba
- India: Ashwagandha, Gymnema Sylvestre, Ashoka, Guggulu, Dashmoola
- Africa: Yohimbe, Hoodia, Rooibus, Bangalala, Sacred Blue Lily, Ubulawu, Bush Potato
- Europe: Chamomile, Valerian, Anise, Plantain, Fennel, Rosemary, Senna Leaf
- Australia: Eucalyptus, Tea tree, Wattleseeds, Morama bean & nuts, Bush lime
Benefits of Combining Herbs from Around the World
In the past, most of regional herbal medicine practices have operated separate from the other. Some initial bridges were created in the 1970s, between the US and Europe. With different migrations of Asian medicine practitioners, some trust was developed between specific practitioners and their students. The result was to create student-authors willing to share their knowledge. This raised the general knowledge while allowing more passionate herbalists to further their development. The 1980s began more sharing of the Ayurvedic tradition, These two sophisticated methodologies joining with the Three Americas has yielded a vast exchange of herbal knowledge. This synergy of sharing is improving everyone’s practice. The separatists approach has succumbed to practitioners who are more inclusive and open-minded, Patients are getting better and more impressed with the results. Patients are seeking alternatives to allopathic medicine and its here to stay, if unhampered by the interests of Big Pharma. The internet is improving information access. The bottom line here is that a single thesis of knowledge will collide with another thesis. The result will be synthesis, if both sides are open, then a new improved idea will take hold. A World Herbal system is here now! Our natural medicine educational system is helping, When summed up, it’s the best time, if you are a client. The quality of remedy is exceptional and steadily improving.
Now, Herb Suppliers have at its finger tips, the best, quality grown herbs, unless government interference creeps in. In order to remain unquestionable, we only work with GMP certified natural medicines which is a current step above what is required by the FDA for manufacturers in the USA.
Compared to modern medicine which experiments on animals-rats, dogs, cats, then humans etc., native herbal medicine has thousands of years of experiments with real human subjects. An FDA phase IV program, to prove a modern pharmaceutical medicine works, will experiment with a few hundred to a few thousand subjects, whereas, most Asian and Ayurvedic medicine has proven effectiveness with millions of human subjects. Natural Asian medicine has improved via millions of affirmative and negative responses which has resulted in selective formulas known for 100s of years to work. Did you know that many pharmaceuticals offered by your pharmacist are not FDA approved? Yet it is OK for them to sell without serious scrutiny. They know the public is not informed about this. Which medicine should you rely on? Asian herbal formulas will have the same strength as food. Extract formulas are up to 5 times the strength of food or basic herb formulas. Pharmaceuticals are 50 times stronger than the natural herb and the food quality is removed leaving the chemical to effect the healing support.
Adding to the public’s confusion, misinformation about herbs represented by pharmaceutical interests is really a distraction and strategy to reduce market share of the herb and supplement industry. The exaggeration of danger that is waged in the press by big pharma interests is not integrous. Pharma has more than their share of challenges and would do well to regulate their own house and offer a hand of peace since most of their development has evolved from prior and ongoing herb research.
Rather than be oppositional, we need to join together instead of fall to the level of lesser emotions. We can raise each other up and combine knowledge. Its going to happen, eventually, in small steps. The process has begun in spite of financial interests.
Over time, master herbalist will discover better formulations as they become more aware of the World Herbal of traditional herbs.

Effective Guidelines For Avoiding Allergens
June 30th, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedAllergies are both annoying, costly and at times embarrassing, so here are some ways in which you are able to limit the affect of allergic reactions on your life:
Lets’ start really simple. Vaccum your living and work premises frequently. Sometimes cleaning can irritate particular allergies but make sure that you do clean your house frequently because in the long run it will definetely reduce ther allergens present. Try to use a cleaner that comes with a built in air filter. Once you finish cleaning you may like to leave the house to let the dust settle. Dusting along with vacuuming also helps reduce the number of dust mites in your house.
Pay attention to how much time you spend mixing with pets and animals. If your pet is your best friend then try as a minimum to keep it out of your bedroom as this would be a considerable risk factor. Obviously minimise your contact as far as possible with:animal saliva, fur and dead skin (not that you’d wnat to touch them too much).
Ensure that you keep the moisture level in your house as low as possible. You can significantly lower the chances of mold from developing in your house by reducing the general humidity levels especially in the kitchen and bathroom. Using a home dehumidifier is highly recommended (ebac dehumidifiers and delonghi dehumidifiers come highly recommended). Also make sure that there are no leaking pipes and clean surfaces often with a disenfectant.
It would be smart to ensure your doors and windows are closed if you have ever encountered pollen on your window sills. Try to run your air conditioner instead and have a filter fixed to it that you can easily clean or change regularly.
If you are intending to go out for the day then ensure that you check the pollen count for your chosen destination. Between 10am and 4pm you should try to avoid being outdoors when pollen count will be at its peak. Ensure that windows are tightly shut when driving.
If there are high winds and high humidity try to stay inside as pollen and dust are more likely to be present then. You can also avoid poor air quality by travelling outside of peak times. You may even wish to consider wearing a face mask if you really suffer a great deal. After getting home from a day out take a shower soon to get rid of dust and pollen that might have gathered on your skin.
When planning a holiday ensure that you also look up the pollen level at the destination and be especially aware that you may might need to take special care when going to tropical places. Due to excess moisture these may then have raised levels of mold spores.
By following these simple guidleines you can help yourself to avoid much unneccesary suffering quite easily.

Need a Health Supplement?
June 30th, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedOver the past eighteen years or so, the numbers of people taking health supplements has increased significantly, yet at the same time, there are very many doctors and dieticians who say we don’t need them - so who is right, the doctors or the consumers?
The argument of the doctors and dieticians is that you should be able to meet all your nutritional needs from a good healthy diet, and therefore don’t need any health supplements such as multivitamins.
The problem with this argument is that it ignores the evidence that shows that most people simply don’t meet their nutritional needs from their everyday diet.
There are many reasons why people fall short nutritionally and so may need health supplements:
• Modern processed food is nutritionally poor: The intense factory farming methods produce food that has less vitamins and key nutrients than the same food 40 or 90 years ago. By the time our food is picked and packed and stored for weeks, it has lost much of its goodness.
• Junk food: Many of us can’t resist those fast food restaurants, but their high fat, high sugar offerings are very short in nutrition.
• Busy Lifestyles: Few people actually eat three good meals and two healthy snacks per day. Many of us grab what they can on the go without thought of a balanced diet.
• Diets: Whether it’s Vegetarian, Vegan, low carb, or another new diet, many choose to restrict the food they eat for some reason.
• Some nutrients are difficult to get from a regular diet: Vitamin D is an example of a nutrient that takes a lot of work to get from a regular diet.
Some specialists estimate that less than 10% of the population actually eat a diet that meets all their nutritional needs. So most of of the population consistently fall short on essential vitamins and minerals such as vitamin B, vitamin D, and zinc.
Also, there are many in the population who have special nutritional or medical needs for particular nutrients at certain times in their lives. These include:
• Young children and adolescents
• Pregnant and breastfeeding women
• Elderly people
• Vegans and some vegetarians
• Smokers
• Heavy drinkers
• People who are chronically ill
• Those on a restrictive diet (e.g. long term dieters)
These groups often have the worst diets due to lifestyle or financial reasons.
Many health supplements specialists recommend that you ensure your diet is adequate by taking a multivitamin and mineral supplement daily, plus a good source of omega 3 and 6.
In addition, women who are pregnant or trying to conceive should take folic acid in order to ensure development of a healthy neural tube.

Bringing Natural Skin Care into Your Beauty Regimen
June 30th, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedIf you want to start using a more natural skin care regimen than you have previously, you may be worrying about having to make a major investment in new skin care products. While this concern does have some foundation, natural skin care is not exclusive and can be worked into any beauty routine in a gradual and effective fashion.
There are a great many advantages to natural skin care, including:
* Skin care peace of mind thanks to all natural ingredients.
* Promoting the use of natural products and a green lifestyle.
* Setting the example of a healthy, responsible beauty lifestyle.
Of course it might be hard to throw all your old favorites away. Incorporate your new natural skin care gradually. This can help your skin and your pocketbook at the same time.
* Step One: As you run out of products, replace them with natural counterparts. You might select an avocado moisturizer to replace your current one.
* Step Two: Pick your targets. If there are certain things you want to try right away, let those be the things that you replace first. In many cases, these natural products may actually add to your beauty regimen rather than simply replacing an existing facet. For example, natural toners and spritzers keep skin moisturized throughout the day without smearing or smudging makeup. Add in small things like a bottle of natural skin spritzer in your purse or an office desk drawer.
* Step Three: Try out lots of things to see what you like best. Do some research on natural skin care products to determine what best suits your needs. Once you find something that works, it is time to move on to the next step of your beauty regimen and replace that with a natural product as well. Place the new natural product in its own niche in your beauty routine.
Once you start using natural skin care products, you will wonder what took you so long. People who use primarily or exclusively natural skin care products often report that the effects are more far-reaching than simply their appearance. They sometimes report feeling clearer and more confident than before – possibly because of the aromatherapeutic effects of natural skin care. Natural skin care products are always attractive, so look into your options right away.
